Firefighters from Bartlett Fire Protection District responded Sunday, January 4, 2026 late afternoon to a report of a fire in a mechanics shop warehouse type building at Global Auto, 31W450 Spaulding Road in Elgin. The roof at the metal warehouse type building was starting to collapse, and the drone was able to detect the hazard early.
A drone was also used at the 5-day warehouse fire at Access Documents storage facility at the Brewster Creek Business Park on Humbracht Circle in Bartlett in early February 2021.
