Buffalo Grove-based Shorewood Development Group is planning the re-development of the property, known as Chase Plaza, at the northeast corner of Arlington Heights Road and Lake Cook Road in Buffalo Grove.
The development of Club Studio will be the first phase of the development at Chase Plaza, 1160 West Lake Cook Road at the northeast corner of Lake Cook Road and Arlington Heights Road in Buffalo Grove. Club studio will be located in the former Dominick’s Store, consisting of about 34,000 sq ft. Next, another 27,000 sq ft will be developed for general retail use.
Construction on the mostly vacant site is expected to begin within the next three months with demolition, renovation, and reconstruction of the front façade of the building, a new roof, a new loading dock, a redesigned parking lot, and a new sign for the shopping center.
The closing on the Real Estate is expected on January 29, 2026. Currently, Albertsons owns the Dominick’s area. Butera owns the east and west side of the shopping center combined buildings, Hamilton Partners owns the office building on the east side of the property, and Anthony Donato owns the site of the former Buffalo Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor (permanently closed March 30, 2025) nearest the northeast corner of Arlington Heights Road and Lake Cook Road.
Butera will continue to own the west side of the shopping center, where businesses currently exist. There are also existing businesses in the east combined building and the office building on the east side of the property.
The Village Board of Buffalo Grove voted unanimously to approve the plans at the Village Board Regular Meeting, Monday, January 5, 2026.
