LIVE WINTER STORM operations (second stream in better visibility) at O’Hare International Airport on Saturday November 29, 2025 from The Curious Spotter. YouTube Tips ⓘ
The Curious Spotter provided a live stream of air traffic at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, beginning about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025 during a Winter Storm Warning from the National Weather Service Chicago. A second stream began about 5:00 p.m. If you’re viewing while the video is still LIVE, scrub back in time to search for aircraft and snow plowing operations.
Visibility is/was very difficult, and snow clearing operations are/were available for viewing in parts of the video. Aircraft were hear instructed for landing on Runway 10 Center and Runway 9 Center; and taking off on Runway 9 Center and Runway 10 Left in some audio that was captured.
Some taxiways were closed closed due to “no braking.” The term “no braking” is short for no braking action, and is considered a critical term used in pilot reports (PIREPs) and airport advisories to describe hazardous runway or taxiway conditions. “No braking” means that the runway surface is extremely slippery, providing little or no friction for aircraft wheel brakes to work effectively to stop the aircraft.
Runway 10 Center was described as “Medium Braking” by the pilot of a Boeing 777. The terms “No Braking,” “Medium Braking,” and “Poor Braking” in the audio.
The RVR (Runway Visual Range), which is the horizontal distance a pilot can see down the runway from the approach end, was reported to be 3,000 feet at about 2:00 p.m. CST.
