Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded to report about 6:15 p.m. Thursday of a person stabbed in the 1600 block of Baldwin Road. Police found Eduardo Garcia stabbed. Patrick Ford Sentenced 35 Years After Pleading Guilty to Murder of Dana Mangi

Patrick Ford, 25, of 1043 W. Grace St. [MAP/SAT], was charged with killing Dana Mangi by stabbing and strangulation at his Wrigleyville apartment in August 2007. On Thursday, he was sentenced to 35 years in prison, after pleading guilty but mentally ill to murder charges in the death of Class of 2000 Prospect High School graduate Dana Mangi, 25, of Arlington Heights.

Melissa Bridgewater Shot, Killed Near Spring and Harger Road in Oak Brook

Oak Brook police responded about 6:15 a.m. Friday, New Year’s Day to report of shots fired near Spring and Harger Roads in Oak Brook. When police arrived to the area just east of Oak Brook Shopping Center, they found a female in a vehicle with a gunshot wound.

Melissa Bridgewater, 45, was shot in her car. She was leaving the Doubletree Hotel at 1909 Spring Road when she was shot by an unknown offender. The victim’s ex-husband, Jerry L. Hudson, 48, has been declared by police as a person of interest wanted for questioning in the case.
