Bus Cameras Capture Crash with Bus in Syracuse, New York; Could You React in Time?

In Syracuse, New York, cameras caught the moment a pickup truck swerved and crashed into a bus.

Syracuse police released bus surveillance video that captured the crash of a pickup truck into a bus. The driver of the pickup truck, Neil Brownell, swerved left from an exit ramp on January 19, 2017 about 1:58 p.m. The truck hit a passenger bus that was waiting at a stop light, causing significant intrusion into the right side (passenger side) of the bus. Passengers dove out of the way and some seats were broken from their mountings.

Herbert Barry, age 60, suffered a broken leg and a hand injury. An additional seven people were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Brownell, the uninjured pickup truck driver, was ticketed for failure to reduce speed on failure to keep right on a highway.
