The Carpentersville Police Department is investigating a police-involved shooting incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 6, 2026 when police officers stopped a shooter that was actively shooting at people at La Ilusion Restaurant and Bar, 100-134 IL-25, Carpentersville, Illinois.
Police officers from the Carpentersville Police Department responded about 12:03 a.m. to a report of shots fired at a restaurant in the block of 130 Kings Road in Carpentersville (Note the address of 130 Kings Road is several blocks west of the scene at Ilusion Restaurant and Bar, which is at Kings Road and Route 25/Kennedy Drive). Upon arrival, police officers observed a suspect actively shooting at a person and fired their service weapons, striking the suspect, who was pronounced deceased.
According to the Carpentersville Police Department, the suspect shot two individuals. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. One victim remains in critical condition and the other is in stable condition.
Preliminary information indicates this was an isolated incident involving individuals known to one another. There is no threat to the public, according to the Carpentersville Police Department.
Pursuant to department policy, the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation, Zone 1, is conducting an independent investigation into the officer involved shooting. Any information related to that portion of the incident will be released by the Illinois State Police or upon completion of their investigation.
