Police firefighters paramedics from Maywood responded near a Dunkin at 1317 S. 1st Ave. in Maywood to report of a fire. Upon arrival firefighters reported heavy fire and smoke from a pallet company building just east of the Dunkin’ one story commercial building about 180 by 190 ft.². Mutual aid was immediately requested with a Mavis division 20 box alarm which was soon upgraded to a second alarm at 2:26 PM and a third alarm at 2:39 PM.
The business that occupies the warehouse building involved with fire is F & L Pallets Inc., 1301 South 1st Avenue in Maywood, Illinois. The business is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Video images from the Citizen app show fire through the roof and thick black smoke from several angles around the building. Initially there are no reports of any injuries.


Initially, three master streams and four handlines were applied to the building with the building totally involved with fire.
Primary search was completed, and everyone was accounted for, according to a report at 3:07 p.m.
