Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver about 12:30 AM Friday near the intersection of Seegers Road and Tonne Drive, Arlington Heights. Police arrested Jose L Duran, of the 2400 block Cedar Lane and charged him with DUI after observing him drive a vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Officers observed a blue 2002 Jeep Liberty traveling at high rate of speed, and watched the vehicle turn right on Tonne from Algonquin Road.
During the traffic stop near Seegers Road and Tonne Drive, police observed a rifle and another weapon between the passenger seat and the drivers seat. The items turned out to be Airsoft guns and/or pellet guns.
Police smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle during the traffic stop.
Duran has never had a drivers license and was charged with felony aggravated DUI for driving without a license.
He was also charge with other DUI-related charges.
