THU DEC 11 2008 — A suicide bomber killed at least 55 people Thursday in the upscale Abdullah Restaurant restaurant near Kirkuk where Kurdish officials and Arab tribal leaders were trying to reconcile differences over control of the oil-rich region and oil leadership.
A guard at the entrance reported that the blast occurred moments after a man parked his car and walked inside.
Kirkuk has had at least 41 suicide attacks since May 2005.
