Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 8:46 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2025 to a report of a crash with injuries at Arlington Heights Road and Lillian Avenue in Arlington Heights.

Police were on the scene first and discovered a crash involving a large blue GMC pickup truck and a dark gray sedan — possibly a Kia. Three ambulances arrived on the scene, but one ambulance was returned. Ambulance 4, Ambulance 1, and Ambulance 2 were assigned to the scene. At least two people were assessed by paramedics, and were transported to Northwest Community Hospital. Ambulance 2’s crew and Ambulance 4’s crew each transported a patient with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

Two lanes of northbound Arlington Heights Road were temporarily closed, and then only the right lane of northbound Arlington Heights was closed. When both northbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road were closed, traffic was diverted through the southwest entrance to the Town & Country shopping center that is located the buildings. The main entrance of the Town & Country shopping center aligned with Lillian Avenue was closed until the vehicles were removed. The intersection was cleared by 9:30 p.m.

Both vehicles were located near the northeast corner of the intersection. There may have been a third vehicle impacted that was relocated into the shopping center parking lot. The blue GMC pickup truck was visible with passenger side damage and a broken driveshaft that collapsed to the roadway. The smaller sedan was visible with right-front damage.

At the intersection, Arlington Heights Road is a 4-lane main thoroughfare with an additional left turn lane from northbound Arlington Heights Road to westbound Lillian Avenue, and a left turn lane from southbound Arlington Heights Road into the Town & Country shopping center.

Lillian Avenue is west of the intersection with one lane in each direction, and an additional left turn lane from eastbound Lillian Avenue to northbound Arlington Heights Road.

The driveway to Town & County shopping center east of Arlington Heights Road is one lane in each direction with an extra left turn lane to southbound Arlington Heights Road, and an extra right turn lane to northbound Arlington Heights Road.
