
The Glenview Police Department announced about 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 that a suspect in the shooting homicide of James Solger was arrested at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Charles S. Poulos, M, 55, 21 Glenview Rd, Glenview, Illinois — the same address that the body of James Solger was found — was charged with one count of First Degree Murder.
Charles S. Poulos held pending transport to a Pretrial Conditions Hearing.
The Glenview Police Department conducted this investigation with assistance from North Regional Violent Crimes Task force (NORTAF), Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The investigation indicates this was an isolated incident, according to the Glenview Police Department.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased male as James Solger, male, age 61, Glenview, IL. The Medical Examiner determined Solger’s manner of death to be homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting death case remains an active investigation and further updates will be provided when available, according to the Glenview Police Department.
The investigation is being conducted by the Glenview Police Investigations Bureau with assistance from the North Regional Violent Crimes Task Force (NORTAF) and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police from Glenview responded about 7:31 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025 for a check for well being call in the block of 0-99 Glenview Road in Glenview. Inside a home they found a 61 year-old man deceased. Initially, the police department did not indicate whether there were any signs of trauma.
Initially, the identity of the male adult was not released. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, the victim was a male/white.
The North Regional Violent Crimes Task Force (NORTAF) was assigned to assist the Glenview Police Department with the death investigation, which has not been categorized as a homicide investigation.
