The founder/CEO of Vistex was killed and the company’s president was seriously injured in an accident during a theatrical entrance at one of the company’s silver jubilee celebrations in Ramoji Film City in south central India.
Vistex CEO Sanjay Shah and Vistex President Vishwanath Raju Datla were inside an iron cage that was descending onto a stage as part of the theatrical entrance to the company celebration when a cable snapped on one side. The cage platform tilted to one side and spilled the two company leaders to a concrete floor about 15 to 20 feet below. Sanjay Shah landed head-first and suffered a fatal head injury. Vishwanath Raju Datla landed on his legs and suffered multiple injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where he is listed in critical condition

Police investigators and likely the Ministry of Labour & Employment are investigating whether the producers of the theatrical event and/or the facility management were negligent.
