About five minutes before the crash was dispatched, police, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to a road rage incident involving a battery with the battery victim at the McDonald’s at 1912 East Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village. Initially it was unknown where the road rage and battery occurred, but the battery victim at the McDonald’s parking lot was located about one mile north of the fatal crash scene at Busse Road and Touhy Avenue.
