Arlington Heights Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash with Semi-Trailer Truck Involving Fire, Busse Rd and Touhy Ave Elk Grove Village

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Elk Grove Village responded about 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 to a report of a motorcycle crash with a semi-trailer truck at Busse Road and Touhy Avenue in Elk Grove Village. Callers reported the semi-trailer truck tractor was on fire after the crash.

Fire Engine 8’s fire crew on arrival reported a semi-trailer truck tractor cab fully-involved with fire with the motorcyclist not initially located at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle, a 33-year-old male and resident of Arlington Heights was pronounced dead at the scene.




The driver of the truck was a 54 year-old woman from South Carolina. Elk Grove Village Police Department is investigating the crash.

About five minutes before the crash was dispatched, police, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to a road rage incident involving a battery with the battery victim at the McDonald’s at 1912 East Higgins Road in Elk Grove Village. Initially it was unknown where the road rage and battery occurred, but the battery victim at the McDonald’s parking lot was located about one mile north of the fatal crash scene at Busse Road and Touhy Avenue.

There was initially no information available that indicated whether the two incidents were related in any way.
