House Fire on Ridgewood Lane Near Parkside Drive Hoffman Estates

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Hoffman Estates responded about 1:32 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 to a report of a house fire in the block of 1800 Ridgewood Lane in Hoffman Estates. Engine 23’s crew on arrival reported heavy fire showing from the back of a 2-story house and were immediately leading out with a hose line.

The fire incident was upgraded to a Working Fire response by 1:41 p.m. Firefighters determined that all residents living in the house were assisted by Hoffman Estates police officers and were safe at a neighbor’s home.




The back of the house was severely damaged when firefighters arrived, and firefighters initially needed to operate with a defensive (exterior attack). When heavy fire that was showing at the exterior of the home was knocked by about 1:50 a.m., firefighters observed collapsed structure conditions at the back of the home.

Initially, no injuries were reported; however, there was no confirmation from officials regarding any injuries to residents or firefighters at the time of this published report.




The fire was declared under control by about 2:23 a.m., and ‘fire out’ was declared by about 2:27 a.m.

Initially, there was no confirmation whether any homes next-door were damaged by flames or heat.

Firefighters from Streamwood, Palatine Fire Department and Palatine Rural Fire Protection District were assigned mutual aid to assist Hoffman Estates firefighters at the scene.

Elk Grove Village firefighters and Barrington Countryside were assigned to stand by at Hoffman Estate fire stations.

ComEd and Nicor were assigned to the scene to assist with utilities shutdown.
