Mass Shooting at Pancake House at Western Ave and 116th St, Chicago; 1 Dead, 5 Wounded

The shooting happened at an outdoor dining tent at the Lumes Pancake House in Morgan Park. CBS 2’s Steven Graves reports.

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Chicago responded about 1:40 p.m. Sunday August 30, 2020 to a report that multiple people were shot. Initially police and paramedics found three victims in the parking lot and one victim inside the Lumes Pancake House at 11601 South Western Avenue.

In total, one adult male was shot dead, two adult females suffered serious injuries, one male suffered serious injuries, and two other females were also wounded.

Chicago police are investigating offenders in a vehicle that fled on Western Avenue.

Western Avenue is closed by police in the area 116th Street and 117th Street.
