Freezing temperatures are expected Saturday May 9, 2020 from 12 AM to 8 AM. The forecast low for Saturday morning is 30°F from 5 AM to 6 AM following a cold front that moves in tonight. Temperatures will begin to drop just after 3 PM. Clouds will increase after 3 PM to mostly cloud conditions by 9 PM. A lake breeze with colder temperatures has already affected communities closer to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Lakefront temperatures may drop to the 50s and even 40s before the cold front arrives. Winds in Arlington Heights shifted from the west to north in the 1:00 PM hour.

The air temperature in Hayward, Wisconsin in northwest Wisconsin was 48°F at 1:53 PM.

A weak surface low pressure over north central Lake Michigan early
this morning will move southeast across lower Michigan today, in
response to a mid-level short wave trough rotating around a deep
upper low dropping southeast from northern Ontario. A surface cold
front trailing this low across Wisconsin and Minnesota will slide
south into northern Illinois Thursday evening and bring temperatures into the upper 30s about 6 AM Friday. Thursday morning’s low was about 49°F. Warm temperatures will not recover Friday with a high of only 43 through most of the afternoon. Winds will gust from the northeast for most of the day Friday.
