The Lake County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant on April 14, 2020 for Adrian N. Tostado, age 28, of the block of 1300 Route 12 in Wauconda.

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday April 9, 2020 about 6:30 p.m. were in the area of the block of 34600 North Gerberding Avenue, just north of Long Lake Drive in Ingleslide to follow up on a report that a burglary suspect was in the area. On March 9, 2020, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the block of 34600 North Gerberding Avenue, Ingleside, to a call reporting that Adrian Tostado was forcing entry into an ex-girlfriend’s home, but the suspect was gone on arrival of Lake County Sheriff’s deputies.

On Saturday April 9, 2020 about 6:30 p.m. a residential security video (timestamped: 5:32 p.m.) allegedly captured the image of Tostado driving his Dodge Ram pickup truck in reverse on Gerberging Avenue and crashing it into the front end of a Lake County Sheriff’s Office Ford Explorer Police Interceptor SUV.

While evading law enforcement, Tostado avoided a collision with the first police vehicle shortly after Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies located Adrian Tostado in his Dodge pickup truck in the neighborhood. However, he crashed into the second police vehicle before he fled the area. After the collision, Tostado continued to drive the Dodge Ram in reverse across a corner lawn while evading police. The offender continued onto Long Lake Drive and fled, traveling along Long Lake Drive.

Tostado’s pickup truck was located the same evening, abandoned, in the block of 1600 Callahan Road in Wauconda — about two miles from his residence. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies impounded his vehicle.
