Student Stabbed by Another Student at East Leyden High School in Franklin Park; School on Lockdown

Franklin Park police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a stabbing Tuesday morning, September 24, 2019 at East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, 3400 Rose Street in Franklin Park.

The high school is on lockdown after a stabbing incident on campus, Rosemont Public Safety confirmed in a tweet.

Initial investigation indicates there was an altercation between two students when one student stabbed another student. The injured student was transported to a hospital, but his condition was not initially reported.

The suspect involved in the stabbing is in custody.

Officials confirmed the stabbing occurred inside the school.

East Leyden High School, in Leyden High School District 212, serves students and families of Franklin Park, Northlake, Rosemont, Schiller Park, River Grove, Melrose Park and unincorporated Leyden Township.
