ABC7 I-TEAM Investigates “Nathen Crews” 100 MPH Reckless Driver

The ABC7 I-Team began tracing videos that claim to be shot on 1st Avenue, which led to discovery of a west suburban man claiming to be a Broadview police officer, wearing a Broadview police patch, and selfies with Broadview police in the background.

One video that the ABC7 I-TEAM found had the caption, “What does 130 mph on 1st Ave feel like? Well, let’s find out!”

The I-TEAM compared the reckless speed to the fatal crash of Piotr Rog that killed three members of an Arlington Heights family in February 2017.

Rog had a history of high-speed driving and numerous license suspensions and that he was drunk at the time of the crash with a blood-alcohol level at three times the legal limit.

ABC7 I-TEAM report also introduced Jennifer Smith of STOPDISTRACTIONS.ORG — a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating the lifelong devastation that results when a loved one is killed or injured in a distracted driving crash. Driving safety advocate Jennifer Smith commented after ABC7 I-TEAM ask for her reaction to the discovery of the high-speed video.
