3 Killed, Scores Injured in I-78 Pileup in Pennsylvania

A pileup involving dozens of vehicles on a Pennsylvania interstate that killed three people and sent scores to hospitals appears to have been related to a passing snow squall, authorities said Saturday.

At least three people were killed and scores were injured when dozens of vehicles, including semi-trailer truck crashed into each other on a stretch of Interstate 78 outside of Harrisburg in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

Drivers reported whiteout conditions. Over 50 vehicles were involved in the crash, and 73 people were transported to area hospitals

Four helicopter medevac units responded to the scene — apparently after the whiteout conditions cleared out.
