The identity of a fatal crash victim on Route 59 between Route 72 and Penny Road was released Sunday. Dieter Moreno, of an unincorporated area near Island Lake, age 24, was killed Saturday when his Subaru Legacy went off the road and hit two large trees in South Barrington. Moreno was driving by himself northbound on Route 59 about 7 a.m. in the blue Subaru Legacy one-half mile north of Route 72 when the vehicle moved across the southbound lane and into a ditch on the west side of Route 59.

According to his Facebook page, Dieter Moreno studied Biology at College of Lake County and lived in Wauconda, Illinois.

Just days ago he was rushing to improve himself in school & doing a good deed, too …

25 min late to class today after blood plasma donation took longer than expected. They lied when they said 30 min wait. It was an hour and a half wait before I actually began donating. The pnemonbotolist said they had a morning rush and 2 staff called in sick and no one covered their shifts. So I remember next time to prepare for a 2 hour and 15 min process even though I am done donating in 35 min. Fortunately, the microbiology teacher was really nice bc this is the first time I’ve been more than 5 min late and she reviewed gen bio material for 25 min before I came in and started lab 25 min late to teach lecture and let me stay 25 min late in lab. I don’t think she will ever do this again. She must have just felt really bad bc today’s lecture is the begining of the hardest material in the semester, the biochemistry of metabolism of bacteria.
