Chicago-Arlington Heights Snowfall: New Snowfall One-Sixteenth Inch, Snow Cover One-Sixteenth Inch

About one-sixteenth inch snow fell in Arlington Heights January 1-2, 2012. There was intermittent light snow from 1:25 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012 until 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2012.

Snow cover is minimal at one-sixteenth inch or less — with much snow blown away from areas on the ground. For the winter season 2011-2012, Chicago is still under 2 inches of snowfall (1.7 inches for December, 2011). Chicago December 2010 had 16.2 inches of snow.
