Christina Aguilera, 30, was “extremely intoxicated” and unable to car for herself, according to police, when a car driven by her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, was stopped at about 2:45 a.m. on Clark Street near Sunset Strip. Rutler was driving a Ford Mustang and peeled out or burned rubber. The move attracted the attention of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies who arrest Rutler for DUI and Aguilera for her own safety.
Police smelled alcohol Matthew Rutler’s breath, and a field sobriety test showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.09 percent — only slightly above the legal limit of at or above 0.09 percent.
