Deerfield police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:57 AM Tuesday December 26, 2017 to a report of a house fire at 1505 Garden Court Deerfield, Il. During their response to the house fire several units reported seeing a header, which prompted the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Battalion Chief to upgrade the response to a working fire response by 12:02 p.m.
Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Battalion Chief 51 on arrival reported heavy fire blowing through a garage, and the family room, and the attic by 12:03 p.m. Wind was west at about 8-12 MPH with an air temperature of 5°F to 7°F, and a Wind Chill of -8°F to -9°F.
Battalion Chief 51 reported three lines were putting water on the fire by 12:11 p.m.
The battalion chief requested a Box Alarm by 12:19 p.m.
A primary and secondary search was completed by 12:41 p.m.
No injuries were initially reported, and the Box Alarm was struck out about 12:41 p.m.
The well-progressed fire was extinguished rapidly, especially considering the weather conditions firefighters were facing.
