Residential Burglary on Emerson St Near Highland Ave, Arlington Heights — Third in a Week

Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:16 PM Thursday January 26, 2017 of a residential burglary in the block of 200 West Emerson Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders forced entry via the front door into the victim’s residence. Taken was jewelry of unknown value, and three watches valued at $300 each. A pillowcase that was probably used to carry out the items was also taken.

The resident arrived home to find that glass was broken in the front door, so the resident was cautious not to enter the house in case the offender was still in the house. The resident called 9-1-1 and police searched the house, but found no offender inside the house.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Thursday, January 26, 2017 between 10:45 AM and 7:15 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 8:30 (hours: minutes).

The Emerson Street residential burglary, east of Heritage Park, is the third residential burglary involving forcible entry and stolen jewelry since Thursday January 19, 2017. The three residential burglaries that occurred within a one week period were south of Northwest Highway.

On Thursday, January 19, 2017 between 12:45 PM and 01:30 PM a couple’s home was burglarized on Ridge Avenue near Central Road and Northwest Community Hospital while they were walking their dog.

On Monday, January 23, 2017 between 10:45 AM and 6:50 PM a home was burglarized on Lincoln Lane near Fairview Street in the Scarsdale neighborhood just north of Dryden Elementary School.
