This video was broadcast live on Periscope from a fire at Toledo and Manson in Detroit, Michigan on June 17, 2016 showing a Detroit Fire Department firefighter confronting the videographer.

“I’ll have to ask you to leave my fire scene right the f*%# now or I’ll call the cops,” were the first words out of a firefighter’s mouth when he approached a firefighter. The photographer replied that it’s not your fire scene. The firefighter then asks, It’s not my fire scene? The hell it ain’t.” He tells the photographer to go, to keep walking. He then says he will put down the photographer as a suspected arsonist. The firefighter immediately walks away and then pretends to call in for backup or call police, according to sources.
Fortunately, encounters like this with firefighters or police in Chicagoland have been rare. The only encounters coming anything similar to this severity have been with a Chicago area photographer that pretends to be an official fire photographer, who attempts to restrict the access of other photographers by falsely declaring fire chiefs have put him in charge of photographers.
