Justin Bieber Leaves Miami Jail After DUI Arrest, Arraignment, and $2,500 Bond

Justin Bieber arrested DUI and also charged with non-violent resisting arrest and driving without a valid license in Miami Beach.

Pop star Justin Bieber was arrested about 4:00 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Pine Tree Drive and West 26th Street, Miami Beach. Bieber was arrested about 4:13 a.m. After his arrest, NBC Miami reports that he admitted to consuming alcohol, consuming prescription medications, and smoking marijuana.

The Bieber traffic stop involved a rented yellow Lamborghini, which Beiber was allegedly driving, and a red Ferrari. Both vehicles were speeding and possibly drag racing. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The Miami Beach officer who made the arrest reported the cars were going approximately 55 to 60 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Police immediately “smelled a strong odor of alcohol” coming from Bieber’s car, and Bieber was observed with slow deliberate movements and a stuporous look on his face, according to an arrest report.

“Why the f— are you doing this? … What the f— did I do, why did you stop me?”

“I ain’t got no f—ing weapons, why do you have to search me,”

Bieber was asked to put his hands on his car but he continued to take them off.

Police told Bieber if he continued to take his hands off the car, he would be arrested. Bieber turned around to face the officer, and he was then taken into custody.

Bieber failed a sobriety test at the scene.

Bieber was charged with driving under the influence (bond $1000), non-violently resisting arrest (bond $100), driving with an expired license (bond $500). Total bond for release was $2500.

Under Florida law, people under the age of 21 the limit for DUI is a blood-alcohol content of .02 percent or more. For 21 and over, the BAC is .08 percent.

For a defendant’s first DUI offense, there is no minimum sentence and a maximum of six months, a fine of $250 to $500, and 50 hours of community service. All defendants under 21 are subject to an automatic six-month license suspension.

A first offense of drag-racing offense requires a sentence of up to six months, a $500 to $1,000 fine, and a one-year license suspension.

Miami Beach police confirmed the arrests of 19-year-old singer Justin Bieber and an R&B singer known as Khalil in tweets from the department’s official account.

The driver of the red Ferrari:
The other driver has been identified by Miami Beach Police as rapper Crazy Khalil – (real name Khalil Amir Sharieff), who also arrested and charged with DUI. Khalil Amir Sharieff was being held on $1,000 bond Thursday.
