Police Activity on Route 53, Ends at Big Bowl Near Streets of Woodfield, Not Exactly a Pursuit

Illinois State Police were involved about 6:30 PM Thursday in the rescue of an endangered person traveling in a vehicle on Route 53 between Lake Cook Road and Higgins Road. Several people saw police activity on Route 53 northbound up to Lake Cook Road that eventually involved Illinois State Police, Cook County Sheriff, Schaumburg police and Arlington Heights police squad cars.

A few minutes later several police cars were southbound on Route 53, passing Euclid Avenue and exiting at Higgins Road in several directions. Police were able to stop the subject near Big Bowl at Streets of Woodfield.

An ambulance was also called to the scene near Streets of Woodfield to check on the well-being of the subject. No further information available.
