Theft of Hydrocodone at Church Creek Extended Care on West Central Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report on Monday of a theft a pharmaceutical at Church Creek, 1200 West Central Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took 70 pills of hydrocodone from a patient’s room

Multiple could have access tot he area where the hydrocodone was located.

Under the controlled Substances Act, hydrocodone is listed as both a Schedule II substance (pure form over 15 mg per dosage unit) and a Schedule III substance (containing up to 15 mg mixed with other products).

Hydrocodone is an opiate similar to morphine. Vicodin is an example of a Schedule III drug that contains up to 15 mg of hydrocodone.

Hydrocodone is recently one of the most common drugs involved in drug diversion in the United States. Drug diversion is defined as breaking a legal supply of a prescription analgesic drug from a legal channel of distribution to an illegal channel of distribution.

Hydrocodone is legally used as a pain killer, and illegally used for a sense of euphoria.

The crime is reported to have occurred. between Monday August 19, 2013 and Monday August 26, 2013.
