House Fire on Carpenter Ct Near Grissom Trail, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:06 AM Tuesday to a report of smoke coming from the side of a house in the block of 1000 Carpenter Court Elk Grove Village, IL. Police first on the scene report smoke coming from a vent. First firefighters on the scene reported smoke coming from a high efficiency furnace vent.

Firefighters searched the basement for a fire and discovered a fire in the basement. Firefighters brought a hose line to the basement to extinguish the fire. Firefighters also needed to ventilate the building of smoke and heat by breaking basement windows and first floor windows.

No reports of any injuries.

The fire appeared to be extinguished by about 10:20 a.m. and was declared extinguished at 10:22 a.m.
