A New Kind of Ruse Scam/Burglary in Crossville, Tennessee

#ad▼

Most ruse scams/home burglaries involve getting a homeowner to check their water or their roof or some trees in the backyard while an accomplice burglarizes the house.

In the Camelot subdivision of Crossville Tennessee a nude female swimmer that was doing the distracting while her husband apparently burglarized the victim’s home.

Crossville police received a report about 3:00 p.m. Saturday on Canterbury Lane that a couple that lives nearby approached a 54-year-old male victim at his home. The wife told the husband to go back and get her cigarettes. As he left the wife asked the victim if she could swim in his backyard pool. She then asked if it would bother him if she swam nude in his pool. He replied that it would not bother him. The woman took off her close and jumped into the pool and swam for about 20 minutes. The homeowner brought the woman a towel, and the woman dried herself, got dressed and left.

When the homeowner re-entered his home was burglarized and he immediately suspected that the husband took a missing handgun, jewelry and medication. The value of the missing items was estimated at $1,195.
