Arlington Heights police officers at about 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026 arrested two adults in a “felony traffic stop” style police action in the northbound lanes of New Wilke Road at White Oak Street in Arlington Heights.
The traffic stop was located in the northbound lanes of New Wilke Road near the southeast corner of New Wilke Road and White Oak Street just south of the traffic stoplights.

A male white driver and a male white passenger were arrested after police ordered the driver and then the passenger out of a red sub-compact SUV that was facing northbound in the northbound lanes. Eventually about eight to ten marked and unmarked police vehicles were on the scene.
Police ordered the two subjects out of the car at gunpoint. The subjects were ordered to keep their hands up, and to walk backwards toward the police officers, who were protecting themselves behind the cover of their vehicles.
Initially, there was no information available about the reason for the traffic stop or the arrests.
