Police, firefighters and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026 to a report of a crash with injuries involving a motorcycle and an SUV in the area of Rand Road (US-12) and Henry Street in Mount Prospect.

Police, firefighters, and paramedics discovered a male down and unresponsive near his Kawasaki motorcycle in front of the FYZICAL Chicago physical therapy business, 905 East Rand Road, about 215 feet east of the apparent point of impact at Rand Road and Henry Street in Mount Prospect.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiners Office, the crash victim was a 20 year-old male from Des Plaines, Illinois. The primary cause of death was listed as multiple blunt force Injuries from a motor vehicle collision. Date and time of death was listed at Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:31 p.m.

There was an extended on-scene crash investigation by the Mount Prospect Police Department and MCAT-STAR (Major Case Assistance Team – Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction).

Rand Road (US-12) at Henry Street has two lanes eastbound and three lanes westbound (including the left turn lane to westbound Henry Street). There is a painted double yellow line east of Henry Street and a painted wider median west of Henry Street. Henry Street intersect at an oblique angle with Rand Road.

The Subaru Outback sustained moderate damage to the left-front fender, indicating the eastbound motorcycle may have grazed the front of the Subaru Outback before hitting other objects further down Rand Road and coming to a stop about 215 feet from impact.

Rand Road (US-12) was closed in both directions between Central Road and the entrance to Walmart/Texas Roadhouse.

There were no notifications Saturday night or Sunday morning regarding this crash and the extended road closure during investigation by the Village of Mount Prospect or police department and the fire department.

There is no information to indicate there were any additional circumstances before or after the crash. The CITIZEN APP images with the caption indicating “CAR STOPPED BY POLICE” may just show a routine car stop after the crash and during the investigation. The driver of the Subaru appeared to be cooperating at the scene.
