Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 2:43 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026 to a report of a rollover crash with injuries at Arlington Heights Road and Rand Road in Arlington Heights. The initial call reporting the crash indicated there were two vehicles involved.




The first fire crew on arrival reported a vehicle was on its side. A white Ford Explorer was rolled on its side with the driver’s side down. The driver of the Ford Explorer called 9-1-1 and reported that he was not injured, and that he was out of the vehicle. Witnesses initially reported he was stuck in the vehicle.

The Ford Explorer was located near the left turn lane from Rand Road/US-12 EAST to northbound Arlington Heights Road.

There were no EMS transports, as any patient(s) at the scene refused transport to a hospital. One Arlington Heights Fire Department ambulance was on the scene. In addition, Arlington Heights Fire Department Engine 2, Buffalo Grove Tower Ladder 25, Arlington Heights Fire Department Battalion 1, Arlington Heights Fire Department Squad 2, and Arlington Heights Chief 100 were assigned to the scene. This was a fire department extrication response, but no extrication was required.




The crash affected traffic on Arlington Heights Road in both directions, and on Rand Road in both directions.

The intersection was cleared at about 3:16 p.m.

There may have been errors in the information released in the FOIA request. The FOIA response for this crash indicated there were three involved vehicles, but only two involved persons. Three vehicles involved: a gray Ford Explorer SUV, a Dodge Carryall unknown color, and a black Lexus 4-door sedan. The photo shows a white Ford Explorer on its side.
