On December 8, 2025 about 3:44 a.m. police responded to a report of a shooting at the Mobil gas station at 300 S. Broadway (Route 25) in Aurora. Police officers on arrival found a 49-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by Aurora Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital, and was initially listed in stable condition.
Detectives and Evidence Technicians processed the scene and began following leads.
Preliminary info shows the victim was pumping gas when he was approached by a male suspect wearing:
• Gray winter coat
• Brown pants
• Brown shoes
The suspect ran east from the gas station after the shooting, according to the Aurora Police Department.
“This was a brazen and unprovoked act of violence, and behavior like this has no place in our community. We are grateful the victim is expected to recover, and our detectives are actively working to identify the offender. We’re also asking anyone with information that may assist in this investigation to come forward and contact the Aurora Police Department.”
