Police from Barrington Hills, and firefighters and paramedics from Barrington-Countryside Fire Protection District responded about 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, August 5 2025 to a report from a Barrington Hills police officer that the police officer was involved in a crash with injuries involving a motorcycle at Old Bartlett Road and Bartlett Road near Route 59 (Sutton Road) in Barrington Hills.
Damage to the driver’s side door of the marked Barrington Hills Ford Interceptor SUV prevented the police officer from exiting the vehicle, and extrication tools were required to free the police officer. Firefighters and paramedics from Barrington-Countryside Fire Protection District, Barrington Fire Department and Hoffman Estates Fire Department were assigned to the scene.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries, and was transported to an undisclosed hospital.
The Major Crash Assistance Team Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team was assigned to assist Barrington Hills Police Department with the crash investigation.
At the crash scene, the damaged police SUV was facing southbound on Old Bartlett Road north of Bartlett Road with the motorcycle down on the road near the driver’s side of the police SUV. Both vehicles were north of Bartlett Road, where there is curve at the intersection with Old Bartlett Road.
Bartlett Road remained closed in Barrington Hills for several hours for the investigation, ultimately reopening today Wednesday, August 6th, around 5am. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
Road closures in the area were opened about 5:00 a.m.
