UPDATE: Arthur Avenue Shut Down in Both Directions North of Central Road.
Arlington Heights police responded about 6:49 PM Thursday to a report of a water main break at Central Road and Arthur Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police on the scene confirmed a major water main break with concrete buckling and elevated in a traffic lane. The incident is reported to be in the 500 block of south Arthur Avenue.
The location aggravates an already unbearable traffic situation with construction blocking the railroad crossing at Arthur Avenue and Northwest Highway, and also Kensington Road east of Prospect High School to Rand Road.
