The Arlington Heights Police Department is apparently beginning to phase out the attractive deep blue police vehicles for a classic black-and-white appearance. CARDINAL NEWS captured images of a black-and-white Ford Police Interceptor SUV coming out of the police station reminiscent of the opening intro for the police TV series Hill Street Blues.

A CARDINAL NEWS camera caught the marked black-and-white SUV, similar to a Ford Explorer, as a police officer drove it out of the rear lot police station lot, made a right turn on to Sigwalt Street, and headed westbound on Sigwalt Street.

The schedule for the changeover from deep blue to black-and-white is unknown.

We’ll eventually miss the deep blue design when it is gone. The deep blue design was conceived by some Arlington Heights police officers. The new look is also attractive with a professional appearance.
