following investigation of a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred at Dundee Road and Bateman Road on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
The identity of the juvenile was not released.
The charges stem from a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 that claimed the life of Ismoiljon Khakimov, 26, of Elgin. Along with Barrington Hills police officers, firefighters and paramedics from the East Dundee Fire Protection District responded to the crash, where Khakimov was pronounced dead at the scene. The juvenile was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Dundee Road was closed between Healy Road and Penny Road for approximately 5 hours while Barrington Hills police investigated the scene with the assistance of the Major Crash Assistance Team. Anyone who witnessed this crash is asked to contact Barrington Hills Police Department, Investigations at 847-551-3006.
The next court date for the juvenile is August 19, 2022 at 9:00 AM.
According to the Barrington Hills Police Department, the charges against the juvenile defendant are merely allegations against him. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
