A husband and wife in an SUV were captured on video in a road rage incident that involved a fight and a shooting about 1:00 p.m. Sunday on Highway 70 and English Street, Newport, North Carolina. The couple turned themselves into police after they were identified by citizen tips to police.

Bradley Turner is charged with discharging a weapon into property, two counts of assault by pointing a gun, going armed to the terror of the people, injury to personal property, and assault. Bond is $37,500.

His wife Christy Turner is charged with two counts of assault by pointing a gun. Bond $1,000.

Carteret County Deputies say a four-year-old girl was in the backseat of Turner’s SUV during the assault. Child protective services have been contacted.

The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office released video of the couple to news media, hoping that someone would recognize the couple. Shortly after the video aired at noon, police received multiple phone calls identifying the suspects.

The cell phone video, which appears to be taken from a back seat of the pickup truck stopped in front of the gunman’s SUV, captures a fight, and then “shots fired” into a pickup truck. The video shows a man getting out of a gray SUV and asking the other driver why he tried to run him off the road. The man then throws a punch at the driver. The pickup truck driver and a passenger jump out of the truck and take on the other man two-on-one and give him a beating. The fight continues until the passenger Christy Turner gets out of the SUV carrying a handgun. On the video it looks like she is carrying a cell phone, but she half-heartedly points the weapon at the two teens that just beat up her husband. She hands the gun to her husband, who then fires at least one shot on video.

No injuries were reported in the video, but the gunman was observed with a black eye when he turned himself in to police.
