Teen Critically Injured in Motorbike Crash with a Tree on Lytle Drive Airlifted from Northwest Community to Lutheran General Hospital

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Palatine responded about 1:56 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2020 to a report that the driver of a motorbike crashed into a tree in the block of 300 Lytle Drive.

A call to 9-1-1 reported bystanders were attempting CPR. The first fire/paramedic crew on the scene reported the motorbike rider was down in the street.

According to Palatine Police Department, a 16-year-old dirt bike rider was found to be suffering critical injuries and was immediately transported by Palatine Fire Department paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. The rider was then transferred by medical helicopter to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

The crash scene was under investigation by the Palatine Police Department, and the investigation is continuing. Initially Palatine Police did not release the gender or the name of the driver that was injured.
