Arlington Heights Police Investigating Reported “Accidental Shooting” on Prindle Ave After Boyfriend and Girlfriend Were Arguing

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 6:32 p.m. Sunday December 15, 2019 to a report of gunshot victim and another person injured in the block of 0-99 North Prindle Avenue. Police secured the scene and paramedics treated and transported two patients from the scene to nearby hospital(s).

Police are investigating a report that a boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing when the girlfriend grabbed the gun and it discharged. Both injured victims were located in the front yard. The 9-1-1 caller told police that the gun was taken away from the victims, and that the gun was “taken apart.”

Initially it was not known if both people were shot, or if only one person was shot. The second person may have been injured in another manner from the incident; but blood was visible on both people, and both people were transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics.

Police were immediately investigating the report of the “accidental shooting” … Arlington Heights police secured a perimeter involving two front yards on the west side of Prindle Avenue between Miner Street and Kensington Road.
