Police and firefighter/paramedics from Lake Zurich responded about 5:32 a.m. to a fire in a classroom at May Whitney Elementary School, 100 Church Street Near Jamie Lane. The fire department response was elevated to a MABAS Box Alarm #32T at 5:45 a.m. The fire was declared out, and the extra alarm MABAS Box Alarm was struck out by 5:56 a.m.
Lake Zurich Fire Rescue reported that there were no injuries at the scene.
No alerts were posted on the school’s social media as of 6:35 a.m. The fire possibly involved the new building under construction.
