Accident Investigation Shuts Down Southbound Route 53 Crash Over Palatine Rd for Multi-Vehicle Crash

Palatine firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State Police responded about 7:52 AM Wednesday to a three-vehicle crash on southbound Route 53 at Palatine Road. Firefighters reported the crash was on the bridge over Palatine Road. Fire command requested assistance from a Palatine police and also requested an ETA from state police at about 8:04 a.m.

Palatine police were needed to block a portion of southbound Route 53 south of Palatine Road.

Southbound Route 53 is shut down for a prolonged period for Illinois State Police investigation. Possibly the inside shoulder is being used for passage of some vehicles.
