#ad▼

Arlington Heights firefighters responded about 8:29 a.m. Wednesday October 9, 2019 to a report of smoke in the boiler room at St Edna Catholic Church, 2525 North Arlington Heights Road. The first firefighter on the scene reported nothing showing from the exterior of the church building.

Maintenance workers at St. Edna Catholic Church had already quickly worked to ventilate the affected areas in the church. Firefighters cleared extra crews by 8:36 a.m.

Firefighters and maintenance discovered the smoke was possibly caused a boiler pump. Power was temporarily cut to all or part of the building for repairs. No information was initially available regarding how long the power would be off.
