Crash with two parked cars at Brighton Place and Valley Lane just west of Lake Arlington in Arlington Heights.

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 7:46 a.m. Monday September 16, 2019 to a report of a rollover crash with injuries at Valley Lane and Brighton Place, just west of Lake Arlington. A motorist driving westbound on Valley Lane hit two parked vehicles just before Brighton Place, which caused her own car to roll on its side.

The driver that hit the parked vehicles initially reported only a minor injury and refused transportation to the hospital. The parked vehicles were not occupied. The owner of a parked pick-up truck was exercising on the path at Lake Arlington, but had to park outside the park because the parking lot is closed during work on the parking lot and area around the boathouse. He just left his vehicle parked on Valley Lane when his pickup truck was hit.

According to witnesses, a female driver was driving westbound on Valley Lane from Windsor Drive and hit two parked vehicles. First she grazed a white Range Rover legally parked at the curb in the westbound lane of Valley Lane. Next she hit a 1995 Ford F150 pickup truck that was legally parked in front of the Range Rover. The second crash totaled the F-150, and caused her gray Toyota sedan to roll onto the driver’s side and skid along Valley Lane for about 25 feet.

Initially it was unknown what citations were issued.

Lake Arlington Parking Lot Closed September 16, 2019 to October 31, 2019

The Lake Arlington parking lot is closed September 16, 2019 through October 31, 2019 (weather permitting) for a construction project. Valley Lane is the street that lines up with the Lake Arlington parking lot driveway — the intersection at Windsor Drive that is controlled by traffic signal stoplights.

The Lake Arlington parking lot is closed for repaving and other improvements near the boathouse. During this closure, the bathroom facilities at the boathouse are unavailable.

Arlington Heights Park District recommended that during the Lake Arlington parking lot improvement project, visitors may park near Flentie or Wildwood parks.

The project includes an improved parking lot surface, work on parking spaces, lighting, and curbs by the boat house. The path will remain open during construction while the parking lot is closed; however, the park district is encouraging users to consider other walking paths at Camelot Recreation Center, Sunset Meadows or Melas Park.
