Identity Released for Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with a Semi-Trailer Truck on Route 45 South of Sheridan Ave, Gurnee

The Lake County coroner’s office on Tuesday September 17, 2019 released the identity of the motorcyclist who died in a crash with a semi-trailer truck Monday morning September 16, 2019. Alex Gamburg crashed head-on with a semi-trailer dump truck on Route 45 just south of Sheridan Avenue about 7:35 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2019. Gamburg was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Gurnee police and firefighter/paramedics responded just after 7:35 a.m. Monday September 16, 2019, to a report of a crash involving a motorcyclist and a semi-trailer truck near Route 45 and Dada Drive. Police arrived first on the scene and found a motorcycle collided with a semi-truck on Route 45 just south of Sheridan Avenue in far west Gurnee near Third Lake. The driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Gurnee Police Department.

Alex Gamburg is mourned by his wife and three children and other family members, according to his obituary.

Chapel service is Thursday September 19, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 West Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bears Care, www.chicagobears.com/community/Bears-Care
