President Donald Trump ordered acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to fire Randolph ‘Tex’ Alles. The firing follows an embarrassing episode that occurred at Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago resort club in Palm Beach, Florida, involving a Chinese national on a club guest list who was arrested with devices bearing computer malware after she provided a false story about what she was doing there. Secret Service claimed the security responsibility was the responsibility of Mar-a-Lago’s private security detail.
President Trump has selected James M. Murray, a career member of the United States Secret Service (USSS), to take over as director beginning in May.
