The FBI announced Thursday April 4, 2019 that DNA test results reveal that a teenager claiming to be missing Aurora, Illinois boy Timmothy Pitzen is not actually the missing child. The subject who was tested may be older than initially described — possibly as old as 23.
Investigators ran a DNA test on the “14-year-old” who appeared in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. He claimed to be Timmothy Pitzen, who disappeared more than seven years ago.
“A local investigation continues into this person’s true identity,” according to a police department release. Investigators are conducting a DNA test on the 14-year-old who appeared in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area on Wednesday, claiming to be missing child Timmothy Pitzen.
The 14-year-old claiming to be Timmothy Pitzen was spotted standing near an intersection in Newport, Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. The 14 year-old told people that he was the child missing from Illinois.
The boy, claiming to be Timmothy Pitzen, said he had slipped away from two kidnappers who had held him for the past seven years, according to a police incident report. The boy told investigators he had escaped from an unknown Red Roof Inn, and “kept running across a bridge” into Kentucky.
He described the two kidnappers as two male/whites subjects with builds like bodybuilders.
One male was described as having black curly hair, and wearing a Mountain Dew shirt and jeans with a spider web tattoo on his neck.
The other male was described as short with a snake tattoo on his arms.
The kidnappers’ vehicle was described as a newer model white Ford SUV with unknown Wisconsin plates and a second row of seats. The Ford SUV was also described as having a dent on the left back bumper with yellow paint transfer.
Aurora Police Department in Illinois is leading the investigation.
