Thunderstorms with strong winds have brought down at least one silo and many trees in Milledgeville, Illinois. A MABAS Disaster Box was activated after the storm hit in Carroll County in northwest Illinois.
There was a tornado warning south of Milledgeville in Deer Grove, Illinois, which is about 23 miles south-southeast of Milledgeville, and south of Interstate 88. The National Weather Service will be investigating whether the high winds were caused by a tornado or a microburst.
The storms weakened as they headed east, but did cause problems with downed branches and power lines in McHenry, Palatine, Arlington Heights, and many other communities in north-central and northeast Illinois. There were at least 37 ComEd power outage areas across northern Illinois north of I-80. Many of the regions included smaller sections with additional separate power outages.

Tornado warnings began to activate in northwest Illinois as early as 2:45 p.m. The last tornado warning as of 6:05 p.m. Tuesday was at 3:53 p.m.
The severe weather was in a line from downtown Chicago to Tinley Park to Manhattan, Illinois at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday. There were no Tornado Warnings in northeast Illinois. All Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have expired in Arlington Heights and the northwest suburbs.
